Cancellation Policy
Deposits are refunded, less a $50 processing fee per accommodation when the cancellation is received at least 21 days prior to the scheduled arrival date for all lodging. In the event of an early departure, the deposit is non-refundable, unless the resort is notified as described below.
Deposit Policy
Your 50% of total deposit confirms the entire period booked & will be applied to the last two confirmed nights of the reservation. Your deposit includes a current 9% Maine State lodging tax and a $35.00 a day resort fee. Deposits are refunded, less a $50 processing fee per accommodation when the cancellation is received at least 21 days prior to the scheduled arrival date for all lodging including cottages. In the event of an early departure, the deposit is non-refundable, unless the resort is notified as described in the cancellation policy above.
Air Conditioning
Please note that the cottages do NOT have air conditioning. While we experience cooler temps here at the resort with that amazing ocean breeze, if you desire air conditioning, please consider the air-conditioned accommodations located in our Main Lodge, Lighthouse, Harbor Village suites and Fairwinds suites.
Dog Policy
If you are bringing your canine friend with you, please provide advance notice to ensure you have selected a dog friendly option here at the resort. There is a nightly dog fee of $50 per dog. In the case that there is not an option of availability of a dog friendly room, and a dog is brought to the property, there will a $250 cleaning fee of the room.
Debit Card Use
We happily accept debit cards at our resort, but if you choose to use your debit card at check-in, please note that a hold on these funds can take up to 15 business days for your issuing bank to reverse. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your financial institution. We strongly suggest that you use a standard credit card upon arrival. You may change the form of payment at departure if desired.
Smoking
At Downtown Dover Inn, we maintain a smoke-free environment to ensure the comfort and well-being of all our guests. Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited in the rooms. In case of violation, a cleaning and oxidizing fee of $250 will be charged upon departure, and this will result in no refund or reversal of the incidental fee. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our resort clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Resort Fee
As part of our commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, Downtown Dover Inn implements a resort fee of $35 per day during the period from June 25 to September 23. This fee encompasses a range of additional services and amenities that enhance your stay, including access to recreational facilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, parking facilities, and other exclusive offerings. The resort fee ensures that you can fully enjoy and make the most of your time at our beautiful resort. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to delivering a memorable and delightful stay for you.
Children Policy
Free of charge up to the age of 12 years old, staying in the parents’ or guardians’ room and using the existing bedding. Extra bedding (cot or crib) can be provided at an additional cost ($10 each) at time of booking. $15 per adult per night will be applied to the reservation over the age of 12.
Pets are welcome with a charge of $50 per pet per night. If left alone in the room, pets must be placed in a kennel. With the exception of guide dogs, pets are not permitted in restaurants or pool area. Pet rooms are limited, so please call direct.
